Old Soul, New Story
A study in collected calm
This home arrived with beautiful bones and a family ready for its next chapter. No walls needed moving. What it needed was a point of view.
The brief was a careful balancing act: honor the family's love of old-world antiques, layer in the warmth of French farmhouse and let clean contemporary lines bring it all into focus. The result lives where European patina meets California ease. A mantel built from vintage oak beams we personally selected shares the room with a sculptural bouclé chair, a faithful re-creation of an antique the homeowner loved, handcrafted by one of my trusted artisans. Every textile, finish and fixture earns its place.
This is what I love most about working with strong architecture. When the bones are right, design becomes an exercise in restraint: letting a treasured French chest, in her family for many years, anchor the room; letting a single hand-forged chandelier carry the light; and trusting open space to do the rest.
It isn't a "style." It's a home that feels collected, never decorated, with every piece chosen because it belongs to the family who lives there.
