About N Bishop Designs
Designed around the way you actually live
Our Philosophy
We believe a home should feel like a long exhale.
That the rooms you return to should rise to meet you — feel like sanctuary at the end of the day, layered with the kind of beauty that doesn't announce itself but stays. At N Bishop Designs, we don't design for show. We design for the way you actually live.
The Studio
N Bishop Designs is a boutique residential interior design studio based in Orange County, California. Our portfolio spans a range of styles — coastal, contemporary, modern, Mediterranean, urban, and the beautiful blends in between — because every home should reflect the people who live in it, not a single signature look.
What unites our work isn't a style. It's a sensibility: rooms layered with honest materials, considered detail, and the quiet confidence that comes from designing with intention. Whether your home calls for sun-washed warmth, the clean lines of modern design, or the quiet tension between the two, the goal is the same — a space that feels unmistakably yours.
Meet Nancy
I'm Nancy Bishop, the designer and founder behind the studio.
For more than a decade, I've helped clients turn houses into homes that feel unmistakably theirs. I'm a Certified Interior Designer through the State of California, with a Professional Associate Degree in interior design — and a long, working love for the way space shapes a life.
What I've learned in those years is this: the most beautiful interiors aren't the ones that follow a trend. They're the ones that follow a person. The way you make coffee. The chair you read in. The friends who stay for dinner. Good design listens for those things first, and lets the aesthetic follow.
That's how I work. Always has been.
How We Work
Every project starts with listening — to you, to your home, to the way light moves through it.
Then we design with intention. We choose materials that age beautifully, source from artisans and makers we believe in, and layer rooms slowly so they feel collected, not curated. Whether we're reimagining a single room or building a home from the ground up — whether your vision is coastal, contemporary, modern, Mediterranean, urban, or something entirely your own — the goal is the same: interiors made to be lived in, loved, and inherited.
What We Stand For
Soulful, not showy. Rooms that feel like sanctuary, not stage sets — whether they're warm and layered or quiet and pared-back.
Material honesty. Real stone, well-made wood, organic textiles, hand-finished surfaces. Beautiful in year one, more beautiful in year ten.
Thoughtfully sourced. We work with local artisans, sustainably-certified mills, and small makers whose values align with ours. Sustainability isn't a feature we add on — it's woven into how we specify, source, and build.
Client-led. Your home is yours: its story, its rhythm, its style. We're here to translate, not impose.
Let's Begin
If you've been waiting for a home that feels like you — calm, considered, lit from within — we'd love to hear from you.
